About Me

I graduated from U of T with an Honours BA and obtained my Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation shortly afterwards. However, I have always had a passion for computer science and strong aptitude in the latest technologies, which led to a Certification in Big Data Analytics from York University in 2018. I completed the Master of Information at U of T (3.8/4.0 GPA); concentrations: Human-Centered Data Science and Information Systems Design in April 2021, followed by the Certified Information Systems Security Professional Certificate (CISSP Masterclass),  Microsoft Azure AI Bootcamp (University of Calgary). I am looking forward to obtaining the  Advanced Certificate in Information and Cyber Security (University of Ottawa), and Artificial Intelligence Certificate (U of T) this fall 2021.

I began my career in the public sector over 15 years ago as a officer for Canada Customs Revenue Agency (CCRA). I became an Income Tax Auditor after completing my CPA. I transitioned in the data analytics world after my certification in Big Data Analytics (York U), which led to my role as a Senior Analyst in Business Intelligence Quality Assurance (BIQA) for the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).  I spearheaded the Income Tax Analytics team using ad-hoc analysis, and deep dives on large volumes of data in the Agencies data warehouse to enhance algorithms. I initiated several hundred high-risk corporate income tax audits for regional Tax services offices.

I am currently working in  the private sector as a Sr. Director Delivery and Strategic Initiatives, in the data and technology division for one of the oldest and largest medical pharmacies groups in Canada. I direct a team  of 32 employees using agile methodologies to deliver projects from $1M to $3M. I am responsible to identify information gaps and generate execution strategies to spearhead stalled initiatives. I also collaborate with key-executives providing strategic advice, guidance and recommendations to improve the patient’s health care experience using the latest technologies

Key Accomplishments:

• Developed data strategies and implemented data management and governance policies to ensure the security of client data in compliance with PCI DSS, PIPEDA, and PHIPA regulations.
• Spearheaded the digital transformation of poorly-performing databases from disparate sources and the migration of patient data into a centralized cloud repository (Azure) – improved analytics and reporting.
• Project management of eCommerce initiatives – expect amplified revenue growth over 30% from B2B and B2C sales.
• Improved client experience by revising the company’s website UI/UX design and resource portal application.
• Automated reporting system for finance team by developing internal Power BI tool, saving ≈ $180K yearly.
• Managed cyber-security response for data retrieval and systems access to Local Health Integration Network.
